About Last Night….

The theme was ICE, yet the evening was anything but cold. From the minute we walked in the door to the moment we left, the environment was so warm and welcoming. The St. Brendan school Auction was an evening to remember for me & we are so blessed to be part of such great community full of so many amazing people!

We were married in 2000 at St. Brendan. Eight years later Maria started school there. Fast forward to now, three daughters later with the oldest a Sophomore at Watterson and younger two 5th & 2nd grade at St. Brendan, we are definitely “lifers” in this community. From that first day of school we started relationships that have lasted for a decade now and we continue to build new friendships that will continue for years.

I ended up going the fun route and purchased a blue wig to match the ICE theme and am sooooo glad that I did! It was a hit! Ironically it also did take away from any feeling of awkwardness. I felt a bit like a celebrity with the amount of hugs and well wishes I received. I literally couldn’t walk 2 steps without someone asking how I was or receiving a compliment of some kind. Some stopped by our table just to say hello and offer more kind words. We also managed to successfully win Gina’s class project as well as one of the purses I wanted, so that was a little icing on the cake.

The evening couldn’t have been scripted any better!

If I haven’t said it enough – THANK YOU so so much to everyone in our St.Brendan/Watterson community for making me feel so great during a not so grand part of life.
