Love Love Love ? Good ol’ Valentine’s Day has come and gone. Was it everything you dreamt of & more? Did your significant other sweep you off your feet? Propose? Make you dinner? Buy you flowers! A card? A high Five? Nothing?
Well MY Valentines Days started with my Oncologist cancelling chemo because of a lingering internal skin infection that my 7-day antibiotic didn’t nix. That was a bummer only because it pushes everything back a week. HOPEFULLY next Thursday we are a go! We.shall.see.
I then realize the hair actually DOES start coming out 2 weeks post treatment, like clockwork. I was able to pull out hair easy peasy & am so glad I buzzed it. Otherwise my sink would’ve looked like a skunk was camping in it. Instead it just looked like my husband just shaved his beard? So between chemo cancel and my receding hairline, my Valentine’s Day was off to a rough start. I proceeded to do some work, finish yesterday’s post, and mope. And mope. And mope.
THEN hubs came home with flowers and goodies for me and the girls & I talked him into letting ME take HIM on a date to the Avenue, a fairly new and popular Cameron Mitchel restaurant in Dublin. He thought I was NUTS to think we could get a seat on Valentine’s Day without a reservation. Well, my glass is half full self says “let’s give it a shot and I’d bet we can get a seat at the bar”. Wouldn’t you know it, I walked in and a couple was just leaving. BAM! Two seats for my Valentine and myself at the bar with no wait! We proceeded to have a GREAT impromptu date night! I couldn’t have scripted it better. Our bartender was amazing, the meals were fab and the company ever better. It put a priceless end to a day that looked so grim to start.
Although I feel Valentines Day is overrated and we shouldn’t need an excuse to go out with our love or give them thoughtful gifts, this past Thursday evening I was VERY glad we had an excuse❤️
