I’m working on some accountability here in the FOMOzone. I want to write & post more but the days keep flying by and the time keeps dwindling away. Therefore, I’m implementing “Fomo-Fridays” with the hope to post AT LEAST bi-weekly on Fridays. Should give us all something to look forward to…right? Yes, I know it’s Tuesday but there’s NO-WAY I’ll have time Friday so enjoy the punctuality and hope I pull off another post for next Fri-yay?
Since my last post, quite a bit has occurred. Lumpectomy surgery was May 24th. The tumor was removed and some lymph nodes. All went well and has healed fantabulously. The margins & nodes tested clear of any more cancer cells. Radiation begins in the next week or 2, I’m hoping for July 6th so I can get through the holiday and enjoy some fun in the sun. During treatment (and few weeks after) I cannot be in the sun, chlorine or lakes, soooo for me that feels like an end to the summer. I find out tomorrow what doc prefers, but my stance is…what’s another week or 2 ??♀️?
Since surgery, Maria graduated High School, girls ended school year, we’ve attended 10+ grad parties, Gina went to CYSC last week & Julia is at YMCA Camp this week. We’ve been cleaning, working & planning for our Grad Bash this coming weekend. Needless to say, its been a whirlwind of 2 months since my 2nd diagnosis.
Emotions for me have been all over the place. Most days I’m simply not phased and go through the motions. A single moment of humanity kicks in and I breakdown, but that just leaves me with puffy eyes and lack of energy, therefore, I’m not a fan. The “ugly cry” does not bode well for the external appearance but seems to help internally, so maybe I’ll let it happen a time or two again if/when I see fit ?
Due to the 87 things I need to finish between house and work, this post is short. I love and appreciate so much that many of you are looking forward to these updates and will try to write more often! Next post shall be filled with more wit and pics for your entertainment as well.
