Hakuna Matata!

Soooo, let me be the one to remind and imbed in your brain that when it’s stated for you NOT to eat before surgery…DON’T EAT!

As many have experienced the morning chaos of getting the kids out the door in the morning and often our breakfast turns out to be what they didn’t eat. Well, give me a 10am arrival time for surgery coupled with the normal morning (chaos) routine, I tend to space out on rules! Let’s be honest, me and rules don’t go hand & hand on most days.

This morning I say to Gina during the hustle out, aren’t you going to eat your toast? She says no, you have it. I take the liberty to grab it and have a bite or two (ok, 1/2) before I recall that I’m not supposed to eat! DAMN!!!!

So why the food rant? I’m now sitting in OR prep room in my beautiful gown snuggled up in their warm blankets UNTIL 5pm! Yep, that’s right, my 11:30am surgery has been pushed back to 5pm because the anesthesiologist can’t risk taking me and my 1/2 piece of toast filled stomach to the OR. I get that safety is first (especially with the run of luck I’ve had lately) but man a 5 hour wait sucks and I can’t leave the building ? Well, at the end of the day it’s my space-case self’s fault. BTW – Hakuna Matata just popped into the earbuds while I’m typing this…perfect timing. (Who put that on my Spotify anyway).

With that, I bid you a fab day as I’ll be chillin with my warm hospital blankets binge watching something while you’re working or doing what you do on the daily!

Happy Hump Day!
