Halfway there!

Chemo Thursday has come & gone and marked passing the halfway point. WOOHOO! 9 down, 7 to go. Having it weekly is a bit taxing but it hasn’t been terrible. One side affect of this round of treatments is muscle & joint pain which has been a little rough at times. I’m eating ibuprofen like candy so next I’ll need to deal with the hole in my stomach! Kidding – but I’m sure there will be some aftermath of the nsaids & such knowing my luck. Since I’ve already had one hip replaced, I can tell that the other is on its way out too and this chemo probably isn’t helping to much. I foresee a 2020 right hip replacement in my future. Im going to push for sooner than later because I’m over pain, in general.

Soooo, since I’m so smart, I signed up for Race for the Cure so I can hobble my way across the finish line. WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS I THINKING!?! Well, I was thinking that there’s plenty of ladies that aren’t here as survivors and would give anything to be back on earth and able to walk with me even on a bad hip. SO I’M DOING IT! If you’d like to walk with me – please do! I’d love the company. Online registration is closed but you can just show up that morning. If you’d like to donate to the cause, click here for the link to my page

There are couple positives going on these days. First – my hair is growing back. My head looks slightly like a QTip as the fuzzy hairs are coming in. It appears that more are grey than black…damn aging! My LASHES & eyebrows are also growing back & the hair on my legs is NOT. BAM! What a winning combo?

I’ve decided to ramp up the VIDEOS on the YouTube channel so I’ll be inserting more links to videos within the context of my blogs. While I’m not completely comfortable in front of the camera, it is a lot quicker at times than writing and I’m sure y’all would love the entertainment. So when you see text in my writing that’s all caps and different color, click on it, because it will take you to one of my videos. Enjoy!

Have a fab day all!!

  1. You are going to LOVE the race! It’s so awesome Dené. You will likely cry the entire way through….there’s so much support and so so many survivors. I will try to be there if I can! I would love for my girls to experience this and watch another survivor walk that alley. So proud of you girl. Worried about that hip though. Take it easy. I think your spirit will lift you through that walk ?. You inspire me so much Dené!
