Hello All! I said I was going to post more, yet I’ve done less? In part because I’m working on multiple at once and haven’t finished. What’s nice is I notice the texts coming in checking on me when I’m a little more silent and/or the posts aren’t as frequent❤️
So here’s quick update. Vaca was fab! Video, pics & such to follow. I broke the “stay out of sun while doing chemo” rule and now have a savage tan☀️ Don’t be to jealous?
Tomorrow I begin my weekly Taxol chemo treatments. These will run every Thursday until the end of June. I’m anxious to see the difference. I’ve heard it’s more of the same and I’ve heard it’s less harsh, so we shall see. A few side effects of taxol that are different is pain in the joints and muscles and numbness/tingling of hands & feet. Since I already deal with both of those especially in my “good” hip and hands, I’m not looking forward to the potential for that to be worse. The juicing & supplements I’ve been taking doing seem to help the joints so I plan to ramp that up along with the clean eating in hopes of keeping pain at bay. I’m already walking with a limp lately due to that “good” hip of mine & can’t push for the replacement until this cancer mess is over. Don’t be surprised if I do ask if the orthopedic and the plastic surgeons could work their magic simultaneously after chemo. I’ll probably get a no, but never underestimate my power of persuasion people!!
I officially have little to no eyelashes and the brows are thinning more, but the damn arm hair is still there? I hear that the hair starts to grow back during Taxol so keep your fingers crossed!
Some good news came this week. If you remember, I’ve had to pack the wound from when there was a slight infection (aka gross puss pocket) on my right new breast that the doc lanced. Well, the iodoform packing strip days are behind me as doc said I could stop! I REALLY hope it heals properly so I never need to do that again!!!
