The Lucky One

I definitely feel that I’m one of the lucky ones. Not just in finding this cancer early, but in life in general. The person that’s been the most concerned this whole time is the one that’s been the rock too. I can’t say enough about the guy that asked me out for six months until I finally said yes the Fall of 1996.

I’ve joked time & time again that he had no idea what he was getting into when he met me. From my crazy family to my crazy self…he was in for an adventure, to say the least. Thankfully he welcomed all that was attached with open arms. I’m definitely The Lucky One.

We’ve managed to cover all the vows “in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health” with the addition of sickness this year. Like most couples we’re not perfect and I tend to feel I’m leading in the not-so-perfect department, but who’s tracking anyway. Life is life and I’m the lucky one for knowing when to say yes back in 1996.

He led the way with the pink tree idea and many friends/family have sent pink ornaments which is awesome! He set up a satellite office at home to be able to run the biz and be available for me simultaneously. He’s dealt with the kids while trying to keep his own emotions at bay. Meanwhile, when he got a chance to sneak off to Coaches this week for an adult beverage or 4, he’s won over $1,000 playing keno! BAM! The luck is heading in the right direction.

I think you get the gist, my husband is da bomb and deserves some accolades. So if you see him around town…give the dude a high five!

(I also Thought I better get this message out before the pain meds wore off and not-so-patient, patient Dene’ comes to visit?? Just kidding, I’m a perfect patient…aren’t we all?!?!)

~Thanks for loving me Jamie, Jimmy, James, the Produce Guy & Hubs ❤️
